About Me

I have been a student of Yoga for 20 years. As an active and sporty person, I found yoga to heal my physical body, but it became about something so much more.

In 2009 I graduated from a 200hour Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training program and began teaching immediately. Over the next couple of years I obtained a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (O.T.) from Queen’s University, 2011. I began to see the connection between the work I was doing in yoga and the mental health and counselling focus that I was taking in my O.T. practice. This lead me to focus on integrating my rehabilitation knowledge into a more therapeutic approach to teaching group classes and working with individuals. My classes and clinical focus combines Mindfulness meditation, Therapeutic and Restorative Yoga, Myofascial Release, Cognitive Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, and Trauma-informed practices. I also utilize mindset coaching to help students and clients transcend limiting beliefs and patterns.

Through my personal experience, as well as my work as an O.T. in mental health I have gained many insights and tools to help individuals recover and discover greater meaning and balance in their lives.

I’m excited to explore what is possible for you!

Testimonials

"Jen's yoga classes are truly next level. The moment the practice begins with Jennifer, it's as though I'm able to access another level of ease, flow and joy in my body and mind. She is a highly intuitive and deeply caring teacher and she guides every class with a rich understanding and incorporation of the physical body, the mental mind and the spiritual component. Jen walks the talk as the instructor and it shows - she holds the space with extensive knowledge as an instructor because of her OT background and also firsthand experience because of the role yoga and mindfulness has held in her own personal journey of transformation. I've attended Jen's classes multiple times in studio and I've also collaborated with Jen where she's led the yoga the transformative retreats I lead - in every case, she is professional, masterful and highly gifted at what she does."

Through my own journey in recovery I have learned that many things are possible.

We can recover from injury, illness, chronic stress and addictive behaviours.
A greater presence in our bodies and awareness of our thoughts enables us to move forward in new ways.
Reaching out to our community and finding other like-minded people or those who have similar experiences can help us along our healing journey.

We are not alone.

Choose to live in your integrity.
